To support the Darebin Council with their week of This Girl Can activities, Cycling Victoria will be providing an opportunity for women to try the indoor velodrome.
Situated at the John Cain Memorial Park, the indoor velodrome is 250metres of timber track, allowing the rider to experience the thrill of riding on the boards away from traffic and the elements.
The session will be hosted by Monique Hanley, who will help you to get going and up onto the track with a focus on fun.
Track bikes are provided for you. These will have pedals with toe straps, so please wear runners or shoes with a rubber sole. If you don’t have a helmet, they are available at the track.
Wear what you feel comfortable riding a bike in, pants with a wide leg are not recommended.
If you have children with you, don’t count yourself out. There will be activities and balance bikes on the velodrome infield to keep them occupied, while you take part in the track session.
Places are limited, so register soon and get a friend to sign up and take part in This Girl Can Try Track.
